Mandarin Oriental, Geneva – 5* luxury hotel with magnificent River Rhone and mountain views. Only a few steps away from the old town, luxury shopping streets, and famous The Geneva Water Fountain.

The hotel was originally built after the Second World War and preserved Art Deco style even nowadays. All bedrooms and suites were refurbished in 2013 with a touch of luxury by Sybille de Margerie.

We had the pleasure to stay at Rooftop Junior Suite with Terrace at Mandarin Oriental, Geneva and it was wonderful. After you walk into the suite, you can find a spacious dressing room on the right and a magnificent marbled bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a beautiful bathtub on the left. The suite features a master bedroom with a large and comfortable king bed as well as an office space with a round table. And the best part of this beautiful junior suite is the huge rooftop terrace with stunning River Rhone views and a mountain backdrop. We were lucky enough to have both days sunny and we could enjoy the terrace at its full.

When it comes to food, it was one of the best dinners I’ve had in awhile. Yakumanka Peruvian restaurant treated us with chef’s specials and it was mouthwatering. I can still remember the taste of Cebiches, Tiradito Nikkei and all other dishes. Moreover, we had a wonderful time at the Pisco Sour masterclass organised by Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Yakumanka restaurant. We found out more about Peruvian traditions as well as had an opportunity to make Pisco Sour ourselves. So much fun!

And let’s not forget the breakfast. We had an opportunity to have breakfast on our rooftop terrace and it was wonderful! The service, the food, the views… everything was perfect. The second morning we decided to try breakfast in Yakumanka restaurant and it was a great experience too.

I would also like to say a special thank you to Mandarin Oriental, Geneva for preparing an amazing surprise for my husband as it was his birthday. The hotel staff not only decorated the room but also arranged a divine chocolate cake and the finest champagne. Such a lovely gesture!
